SCHOOL OVERVIEW

ROACHDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Roachdale Elementary School was built on a 16-acre site in 1951 and underwent a classroom addition and remodeling in 1987. The air-conditioned building has 16 classrooms, library, computer lab, music, art, a gymnasium with a stage and cafeteria. The multi-purpose media center, STEM lab, and a conference room were added to the building prior to the start of the 2000-2001 school year. During the summer of 2019, a remodeling project resulted in a new secure entry. The school houses a regular program for grades Kindergarten through 5. Two special education classrooms are also located in the building.

The school takes great pride in recognizing students and serving their needs. A number of incentives have been instituted to recognize excellence. Among these are: Honor Roll Luncheon, Presidential Academic Fitness Program, Book-It Reading Program, the Artist Recognition Program, Good Citizenship Awards, Attendance and Responsibility Awards, and an Awards Program at the end of the school year.

Other activities offered to students include: Peer tutoring, REACT Walk, Student Council, Cross Country, Special Olympics, Native American Day, Environmental Awareness programs, Jump Rope for Heart, Spell Bowl, Math Bowl, Robotics Club, Make a Difference Day, ACES, Riley Hospital fundraiser, and Title I Adventures in Learning Nights.

Our Gold Star and Ramp awarded Guidance Counseling Program focuses on character education, bully-free education, and career awareness.
