Cougar Nation, let's celebrate Keaton Burress. Keaton is the daughter of Ryan and Kelli Burress. Keaton intends to enroll at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana. The future Screaming Eagle plans to major in Elementary Education and minor in Special Education. Keaton would like to thank her family, staff at North Putnam, and friends for always pushing and helping her in and out of school.
We are proud of Keaton for deciding to pursue a career in education, and know that she will be a phenomenal teacher. We wish her the very best at U.S.I.

Congratulations to Layla Strother for being selected as the 2023 North Putnam High School Tri-Kappa Art Award recipient! She was recognized tonight by the Tri Kappa Sorority – Beta Psi Chapter at their annual art reception.

Cougar Nation, let's celebrate Elle Jones. Elle is the daughter of Bryce and Stephanie Jones. After graduation she intends to enroll at Ivy Tech in Greencastle to earn her associates degree before transferring to a four year university. Elle said, "My goal is to obtain a degree as an Occupational Therapist or a career in Neurosciences. In 2018, I experienced first hand the impact of this line of work and the positive impact it can make on someone's life. My experience in therapy taught me that as an occupational therapist, I can work with others to improve their abilities to complete everyday tasks. A degree in neurosciences would afford me the opportunity to work with and evaluate others on their cognitive abilities and how best to utilize those to learn and grow. "

Full Scale Safety Drill:
North Putnam Schools along with the Putnam County Emergency Operations Center are performing a full scale active shooter exercise Saturday, April 8 on the campus of North Putnam High/Middle School. This is a full scale exercise and will include first responder agencies from Putnam and surrounding counties including Lifeline and other air ambulance services. The exercise provides North Putnam with the ability to train our safety plan, and assist first responders in how to respond to this type of devastating event. The NPHS/NPMS campus will be closed to the public most of Saturday in order to keep everyone safe.
Cougar Nation, let's celebrate Emma Stoops. Emma is the daughter of Kristina Whitaker and Jason Stoops. After graduation she intends to enroll at Indiana University to study Nursing. Emma wants to specialize in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nursing or becoming a registered nurse (RN). Emma would like to thank her family, teachers, friends for helping her become the person she is today.
